Terms and Conditions
UoN Writers’ Club is seeking written works for their 2019 Anthology from all Students at The University of Newcastle – no matter what degree you study.
If you love to write, then send us your work! These works may be creative pieces, insightful non-fiction – any style (eg. short story, poetry, blog post, feature article, etc) is welcomed!
The UoN Writers’ Club Anthology is a compilation of creative works intended to showcase our talented peers’ and members’ works. All funds from the Anthology goes to covering the expenses to produce the product, with excess funds going back to our members to cover items such as costs to hosts events, materials, etc.
Closing date: Friday 9th August 2019, Midnight. Open to: All Students at the University of Newcastle; All UoN Writers’ Club Members Accepts:
Any style and/or genre.
Max. three (3) submissions per author
Length:Two (2) pages or less, Times New Roman, 12pt font, single spaced. (per piece)
Each work may be up to two (2) pages max. (Times New Roman, 12pt).
Work must also include a title and name, and your degree (if applicable)
You may submit up to three (3) pieces of work maximum.
Entries must abide by the University of Newcastle’s Code of Conduct

Terms & Conditions
By submitting your work for the anthology, you agree that the content abides by the University of Newcastle’s Code of Conduct.
Submissions for the anthology opens Monday 20th May 2019. All submissions must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by Midnight on 9th August 2019 to qualify for publication.
Submissions must be original, unpublished work by the author.
Only submissions from Students of the University of Newcastle and/or Members of the UoN Writers’ Club will be accepted.
Upon submission a Student ID number is required.
For our Associate Members (Non-Students), please note this in your email so that we can confirm with our records your eligibility.
Only three (3) pieces will be accepted per person, each with a maximum of two (2) pages per piece. Depending on the number of entries received, the author acknowledges that not all submitted pieces of work may be published. As such, the author will order their submissions in order of preference when submitting.
Co-authored pieces will be allowed with consent from all authors. Pieces worked on or created in UoN Writers’ Club’s ‘Scribblings on Serviettes’ or in partnership workshops hosted by the Hunter Writers’ Centre are encouraged.

Preference of work to be published (listed as 1, 2, 3 and next to the title of work(s) submitted)

On the piece/work:
Document File Name (as Word Docx): Surname_Title
No page numbers
Each work must be:
12pt, Times New Roman font, single-spaced
Title (centred, bold)
Name (centred, beneath the Title)
Degree (centred, italics)
Two (2) pages or less in length
The author acknowledges that not all submitted pieces may be published in the Anthology. Selected pieces will be at the discretion of the Executive Committee of the UoN Writers’ Club and will be selected based off the preferences provided when submitting. Consideration of all pieces will be dependant on the number of submissions received in the name of fairness as many voices as possible.
Copyright remains with the author. However, by submitting your work for publication, you grant UoN Writers’ Club the right to use, reproduce, publish and communicate the work(s).
By submitting the work, the author agrees that their piece may be edited for format, grammar, and spelling. (If it is a piece that is formatted in a particular way as a part of the creative vision, you must specify this in the email when submitted).
By submitting the work, the author accepts the terms and conditions prescribed.
